Customer Reviews
“Easy to use and performed as well as or better than my corded trimmer. Blade teeth alloy is very hard and withstood catching on a chain link fence.”
– John P.
“I haven’t used it yet but it is heavier than I thought it would be. I am 74 and I’m sure that if I was a few years younger and didn’t have any medical issues I would be very happy with it. I guess I should also mention that I’m female lol. I also have a hard time changing the blades but I mainly bought it for the hedge trimmer so I don’t think I will be changing them very often. I don’t know if I would recommend them for elderly females but I might change my mind once I use them! The main reason I bought them was because I am switching most of my tools for battery operated ones so I don’t have to mess with power cords or gas and most of them are very lightweight and easy to use! I also like the fact that there are 2 batteries. I also wish there were heavy plastic guards for the blades, they have cardboard over them and I don’t think that will last very long. I may add more to this once I have used them which should be soon.”

Customer Reviews
“I was really surprised at the quality of these clippers. Given the price, I was expecting a somewhat low-end product, but Corona really did a great job with this. The handles are steel and can be extended with a simple twist. They lock in at any spot with a positive click – very secure. The grip is very comfortable to hold using gloves or bare hands. The best part are the blades. They are forged rather than stamped, and come with a very sharp edge. After a fair amount of use the blades were still razor sharp. It also has a notch at the base of the blade for cutting larger stalks – handy for when you don’t have hand pruners handy. The blade is straight and non-serrated, so it will be easy to re-sharpen when needed (I highly recommend the Istor sharpener). Has bumpers to minimize the jolt to your arms and shoulders when using it for long periods. I normally use a powered trimmer for my shrubs, but wanted a hand one for small jobs. This is so comfortable to use that I hardly use the powered one anymore! Now, this is a homeowner-grade model — there’s a reason why Felco or Bahco cost a lot more. But, unless you’re a landscaper or have acres of shrubs, this will perform nearly as well as the pro brands at a fraction of the cost. Corona also makes other hand tools with the same locking extendable handles. I have the mini rake and find it to be an excellent performer as well. Note that Corona also makes a cheaper version of this with stamped blades. Spend the couple (and I do mean just a couple) of extra bucks and get this one – the blade will last much longer and hold an edge far better. I also looked at some of the Fiskcars (sp?) and found the build quality to be far inferior to this model – handles felt very flimsy, and not nearly as easy to use. Almost makes you look forward to cutting the hedges!”
– David R.
“High quality well made item, extension handles “lock” in place, blades are very sharp and make a clean cut, great for shearing ivy, shrubs and more. This is a “replacement” shear,, my old one wore out after 10+ years. Easy to sharpen and will last a long time if properly maintained. Great price, excellent performance and highly recommend.”
– Sarah L.

“Broke on first use! I would not recommend. Follow – up: I was contacted by this company after receiving a refund. They sent a replacement at no charge. It has been used on a few occasions and works as expected. It was nice to see a company back their product and provide this level of customer service! Thank you…”
– Michael B.
“I have been using this trimmer for several months now. I have several other much more expensive hedge trimmers that do not have the features that this one does. The blade length at 20 inches is in the middle of the range of my trimmers however the rotating head make this flexible and most versatile. I have to admit that I do not always oil my hedge trimmer blades before or after every use like I should. This is the first and only hedge trimmer that I have which has a built in blade oiler. What a great idea. All chainsaws have this so why shouldn’t my hedge trimmer? That was a super great feature addition I didn’t realize I needed until I used it. I have used the tool now quite a bit and crossed my fingers that this wasn’t another imported one and done trash heap tool. It has lasted already for several months of weekly usage, which is a good sign, and the motor is brushless (another quality sign). The tool comes with a scabbard to protect the blades. Dewalt batteries slide in and out easily and work as they should. Excellent Tool!”

Complete Buying Guide for Best Hedge Trimmer Long Reach
Essential Factors We Consider
When selecting the best hedge trimmer long reach model, we look at several key factors. First and foremost is the extension capability – how far does it reach, and is it easy to adjust? We also consider the blade length and type; longer blades mean faster trimming, while the blade material and sharpness dictate the quality of the cut. Power source is crucial: are you looking for manual, corded electric, battery-powered, or gas? Battery life and charge time are vital for cordless models. Weight and ergonomics are also paramount, as a long-reach trimmer can become heavy and cumbersome if not well-balanced and comfortable to hold. Finally, durability and build quality ensure your investment lasts.
Budget Planning
The price of long-reach hedge trimmers can vary significantly based on their power source, brand, and features. Manual trimmers are generally the most affordable, offering great value for their simplicity. Battery-powered models tend to be mid-range, with prices increasing for higher voltage batteries or longer runtimes. Gas-powered options are typically the most expensive, offering the most power for demanding tasks. When planning your budget, consider not just the initial cost but also the ongoing expenses, such as battery replacement or fuel. Remember to look for sales and discounts, especially during peak gardening seasons.
Final Thoughts
Choosing the right long reach hedge trimmer can transform your yard maintenance routine. By extending your reach, you can achieve perfectly manicured hedges safely and efficiently, avoiding the need for unstable ladders. Whether you opt for the simplicity of a manual tool, the convenience of cordless, or the raw power of gas, there’s a model out there to meet your needs. Consider your hedge types, your yard size, and your personal preferences to make the best choice for your garden.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is the advantage of a long-reach hedge trimmer?

Q: How much should I expect to spend on a good long-reach hedge trimmer?
A: Prices can range from around $50 for basic manual models to $200-$400 or more for high-quality battery-powered or gas-powered units. It’s best to set a budget based on your needs and research models within that range.
Q: Can I use a long-reach hedge trimmer for thick branches?
A: While many long-reach trimmers are designed for general hedge maintenance, some heavy-duty models can handle branches up to an inch or more in diameter. Always check the product specifications for cutting capacity.
