Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “I live in Phoenix on an acre parcel and most of it is in desert landscape. Therefore no formal lawn to mow. Yaaa. However when it rains here the weeds grow, well like weeds. Fast and furious. This year we had lots of rain and lots of weeds. I’ve been running a battery powered weed eater every day for a week or so. My back is aching from twisting sideways back and forth so it was time to look for a better solution. I figured how about a small battery powered lawn mower and then I found this thing at about half the cost. So figuring I’d probably junk it after a couple tries I decided to give it a try. Really glad I did. Soon as it arrived I put it together and out I went. It had just rained again and everything was wet but I had to try it. Worked perfectly. Knocked down and chewed up everything I ran it over and no extra back pain as a bonus. I charged up the batteries( comes with 2) overnight and set out to do a good cleanup the next day. This thing is a real delight. It runs about 20 minutes on each battery and since the batteries are fairly small you can carry the spare one in your pocket. another thing about the batteries is the way they eject from the tool. Push the button on the battery and it pops out of the tool’s battery compartment. I mention this because removing the battery from my other ‘green’ weed eater is a real chore You have to push in 2 tabs, one on each side of the battery, and forcibly pull it from the tool. My wife can’t even manage doing it and I barely can, often resorting to prying it loose with a screwdriver while pushing the tabs with both hands. The black and decker baterries just eject with 1 hand by pushing the button, I love it. When you get close to a fence or wall and the platform won’t get close enough, the weed wacker removes from the deck instantly by stepping on a lever on the deck and lifting the handle of the weed wacker forward and up. To return it back in the deck reverse the process, simple and easy. Keep in mind this is a regular string trimmer. It is not a bladed lawn mower and does not do the job of a bladed lawn mower It is a string trimmer on wheels. because you push it similar to vacuming a carpet , front and back, front and back, instead of constantly twisting sideways it doesn’t put the strain on your arms and back liike a regular string trimmer does. It does not mulch as fine as a mower would and if you have tall weeds or grass as I did you will need to make several passes, as you would with any string trimmer except you don’t have to hold it up, just push it back and forth. I have not had to replace the line yet so I cannot comment on that, except to say looking at it, it looks like the exact same process as the other 2 trimmers I have. To clear the bottom of the deck I simply remove the trimmer and wash out the deck with a hose. its been coated with wet grass almost every time I finish. I’m sure dry shorter vegetation will cut much easier. I’m cutting damp weeds and bermuda grass about knee high. The deck is light weight plastic but seems durable enough. If the deck should deteriorate and I have to replace it, the replacement cost of the set is about the same as a different manufacture’s string trimmer alone. but I’ll worry about that if it happens. so far I have no regrets whatsoever.”

Customer Review: “I absolutely adore this mower/whacker! I have multiple small areas of grass that were once a pain to drag a heavy lawn mower over. I also wasn’t a fan of keeping and dealing with gas to mow a few small areas. This tool is lightweight and switches between mow/whack easily. Not a great choice for wet/heavy greenery, but makes quick work of a maintenance mow. I wish the battery lasted longer, but I love how I can just switch batteries and keep going. It has come in handy in a variety of applications outside of mowing my lawn and I love it!”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “Bought this to replace an old Greenworks that never fed the string right. The WORX trimmer is definitely lighter. Battery arrived with one bar and charged up fairly quickly. I wanted to edge with it but the instruction weren’t clear as to how to position the head on its side. Took a while to figure out that you had to grab the head and PUSH it out in order to rotate it. The instructions weren’t clear on that part. Anyway, got it set up and it worked like a charm. Very easy to follow a straight line. Also did some trimming with it and it works. The only comment I have is could they make the string spools any smaller? What gives with that? They could have been bigger. Other than that I’m happy.UPDATE: I went to use it yesterday and it kept cutting out. I figured the battery was dead but when I put it on the charger, SOLID RED which is a defective battery. Since I’m outside the return window I dreaded trying to work with the company but I was surprised. I managed to get a real person quickly, she took down the information and promptly put in an order to ship me a new battery under the six month warranty. Just now I got an email confirming shipment with delivery in two days. I have to say I’m impressed with their customer service. Not so much pleased with a dead battery in seven weeks but I guess these things can happen. Lets see going forward, but so far, very good service.UPDATE 7/7/24 The replacement battery arrived and put it on the charger and nothing, no lights, so is it bad or is the charger bad? Called WORX again and spoke with Anthony. After we got to understand each other it went very well. At first he wanted me to take the battery to Home Depot and ask them to charge it? No Thanks on that one. So after some discussion, he sent me a new charger and another battery. They arrived yesterday and IT WORKS! Even the first battery that the charger said was defective now works so the original issue was the charger. In fact I opened it and there is a burn on the circuit board. I have to say WORX is a very upstanding company and I would clearly say that they stand behind their products. Now that I have three batteries, I guess I’m gonna have to buy more of their tools. And again, a big THANK YOU to Anthony.”

Customer Review: “It is a good trimmer. This is the second one I ordered and this worx model is a great product. Not only trims but edges also.”

Customer Reviews

Customer Review: “This company is EXCELLENT!!!! I cannot sing their praises enough!! Customer service is a BREEZE !and their tools are POWERFUL and get the job done! I have gotten some good deals, GREAT Customer support and service, and great life and use out of the many WORX gardening tools I have and use (i.e. Lawnmower, blower, trimmer, etc). Now, I will get a shearer for some extra plants I have now. This trimmer is SO VERSATILE! It just is great as BOTH an edger and as trimmer (Weed hacker). My grass is SUPER THICK, and I have so much to edge (due to a lot of Stones and paths). With this trimmer, ..thanks to its versatility in switching from trimmer to edger and back again… I get it done MUCH FASTER (unlike the Black and Decker that I used to have…which would Hhhhm and Haaww…and was harder to work with, not to mention was almost twice as heavy) this lightweight thing gets to WORK and it WORX!!!!….chopping through thick weeds like a butter knife! I feel like a Garden Ninja, almost using the trimmer. Easy and powerful. The Price is GREAT! You are not getting overcharged and get a quality powerful product. It’s a USA company and the customer support is GREAT and COMMUNICATION excellent for all the tools that I’ve order so far. I have several batteries that are ALL interchangeable and swap out, they charge very quick especially if you buy a Quick charger. the 40V batteries last so long, I don’t need to recharge it if I’m doing front yard and backyard of a 3 bedroom / 2 bathroom house. So I love the Quick charger, sometimes when the Battery does run out when I’m using it on the other tools (blower to get the leaves out during the fall). Been using Worx since summer 2020 and no complaints and have gotten a nice set of tools!”

Customer Review: “This is both a string trimmer, an edger, and a small mower for tight places or small areas of grass and runs using Worx 20-volt batteries. I have several other Worx products that use the same batteries, including a lawn mower, a small chain saw, and even a travel refrigerator. Surprisingly high quality for the price and combines 3 tools in 1. The 20-volt batteries provide plenty of power and last a long time before needing to be recharged. I have several batteries and always have one charged to replace when one dies. I bought another set for my summer home so that I can leave one at my Florida winter home.”

Customer Review: “Okay listen… I bought this thinking ‘eh, tool only, how good can it be?’WELL. I was humbled. This brushless lawn edger snapped onto my Milwaukee 18v battery like it was MADE for it (because it was, duh). Fired it up and suddenly I’m out here edging my lawn like I’m getting paid by the HOA. The 9” blade is no joke — clean cuts, crisp lines, zero mercy for overgrown grass. The adjustable depth is clutch because I can go light or absolutely disrespect my lawn’s edges depending on my mood. The rear wheel keeps it steady so I’m not fighting it, and the 180° handle means my wrists aren’t crying halfway through. Lightweight too, so I didn’t feel like I just finished leg day at the gym.Tool-only was actually a win since I already had batteries, and this thing RUNS. No cords, no gas, no drama. Just vibes and sharp lawn lines. If you want your yard to look ‘professionally done but with attitude,’ buy this. Neighbors WILL notice.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the difference between a lawn edger and a lawn trimmer?

A: A lawn edger creates clean, defined lines along sidewalks, driveways, and flower beds by cutting grass at the soil level. A lawn trimmer (or string trimmer) is used to cut grass in areas where a mower can’t reach, such as around trees, fences, and curbs. Some cordless models combine both functions.

Q: How long do cordless lawn edger trimmer batteries last?

A: Battery life varies by model and usage, but most cordless edger trimmers offer 20 to 45 minutes of runtime on a single charge. High-capacity batteries and brushless motors can extend this time. Always check if spare batteries are available for extended use.

Q: Can I use a cordless edger trimmer on wet grass?

A: It’s generally not recommended to use any electric or battery-powered edger trimmer on wet grass due to safety risks and potential damage to the motor. Always ensure the lawn is dry before operating to prevent slipping and equipment malfunction.

Q: Are cordless edger trimmers good for large lawns?

A: Cordless edger trimmers are best suited for small to medium-sized lawns. For large properties, consider a gas-powered or corded model for consistent power and longer runtime. However, modern battery technology is improving, and some high-end models can handle larger areas with battery swaps.

Q: Do I need to buy a battery separately for cordless edger trimmers?

A: Some models come with a battery and charger included, while others are sold as “tool only” and require you to purchase the battery separately. Always check the product description to avoid unexpected costs. Interchangeable battery systems (like WORX or Dewalt) offer added convenience.
