As I said, it is sharp, and holds its edge well after several days of work. It appears as if sharpening the blade will be easy with a rasp or sharpening stone.”

Customer Review: “This was easy to assemble as the whole thing screws together. You do use glue on the screw for the head of the shovel attach it to the handle. You put glue all on the screw and then screw it into the handle. So you want to make sure you have something to catch any drips while drying.It’s nice and sharp and comes with a little blade cover. It pretty sturdy but lighter weight than the wooden one that I currently own. I usually scrape ice with mine and the wooden handle helps absorbs shock and reduces fatigue. There’s no ice yet so I can’t test it but that’s my only concern with it being metal.I love that you can use this year round for different tasks. Price wise it’s less expensive than ones with a wooden handle and on target for comparable metal ones.”

I have been using a battery powered weed eater to try to trim the long walkway up to my front porch. However, I usually encounter a depleting battery life before my project is complete. So, when I saw this tool, I decided it was time to try something new. Yes, it takes a little more effort to use this manual tool, but it’s not overpowering or cumbersome to use it. I also plan to use it to fix the edging in the back of my house. I can’t go near that section with a weed eater due to utility lines coming from the ground up and connecting to the house. So, I usually end up “edging” the front of this area with my hands. I think this will do a great job of clearing the grass and weeds yet allow me to stay away from those annoying utility lines.There is a very wide footplate, so that accommodates my boots well. The blade itself is VERY sharp, which you obviously need. One great feature of this edger is that there is a blade guard that fits on the end when the edger is not in use and hanging on a garage organizer. Customer Review: “I ordered this edger for use with our landscaping. However, I found a more interesting and immediate use for it. Our area was hit recently by a snow storm and freezing temperatures. It took hours to shovel out our driveway and paths. However certain places could not be shovelled as they were thick ice. The snow shovel couldn’t get through the thick ice. Neither could an old rusted garden hoe, which broke while I tried using it to cut through the ice. So then I tried using the stick that the hoe broke from, trying to drive it into the solid ice to break it up. Nothing could cut through the ice—until this tool arrived. The sharp blade of this tool was exactly what I needed to break through the surface of the ice. I was careful not to drive it low enough to cut into the blacktop. Breaking the surface of the ice, allowed the ice to break up into smaller “loose” pieces that could then be shovelled away. The handle of this tool is perfect for jobs like this. It is a T-shape so it is easier to control the down-drivng force, then your usual “pole” handle. When we start our Spring landscaping, this tools curved blade will be handy when sculpting the edges along flowerbeds driveways and paths. The blade has small saw tooth blades along the edge and the length of the handle can be adjusted for different purposes or for different heights of the user.”
