Customer Review: I just received this aerator and my first impression is that it is a solid tool made of high quality stainless steel. Assembly is simple and takes only a few minutes. However, looking at the “sharp” end of the tines, they do not look exactly like the picture. The picture implies a sharpened tip of a thicker steel tube. In fact, the tines are simply tube steel cut at an angle and not sharpened as the picture implies. I tried the tool on my lawn. The lawn is moist and made up of clay soil. As a result of the clay soil, the soil plug remains embedded in the tines and then it becomes difficult to penetrate the soil on the next stroke. I would not blame the tool for this. I have had professional aerators do my yard and even they have difficulty penetrating the clay soil type. So I think the tool would work fine on spongy, sandy soil. As the tines are honed by using them in soil, it should become easier to penetrate the soil. I’m thinking of sharpening the tines to improve the soil penetration and plug eviction on clay soils. I wonder if a 3 tine (instead of 4) would make soil penetration easier. Having just the right soil moisture may help also. I like the “knee saver” design and the handle is nice to use. The included spike for cleaning the tines out was helpful. I would recommend this tool if you have the proper soil type. It is sturdy and likely to last.

Customer Review: The media could not be loaded. Its exactly as advertised. Inexpensive and efficient. Ill post some pics. Ive already used it within 10min of opening. Its exactly what I wanted and exactly what I expected. Its about as easy to use as it looks. I’d recommend you purchasing this one if you havent used one before. Its my first time and it’ll probably last me a lifetime. We will see. Also I have only used it for the core aeration purpose. I have not used any other function as I do not need them at this time. Some minor assembly required.

Do note that there are no instructions included in the box you receive, so you may want to take note of the ones in the ad if you are someone that relies on directions. The tool is very easy to assemble if you just reference the picture on the box. I personally found the tool much nicer than I thought it appeared. In hand, to my eye, it is much more heavy duty than I had expected.Included in the box are the tool itself with one attachment being a 3 hole coring plug and the other a 5 spike aerator. There is another plate you can attach to the 5 hole, adding 10 more spikes for a total of 15. We received 17 spikes (2 were extras), 19 nuts (4 were extras), 4 small wrenches, and 6 bolts (2 were extras).The tool worked excellent in our testing. When coring the cores go into a tray built into the top of the corer so you aren’t constantly having to dump them. The aerator works just as well. The way the tool is built you are not having to rely on upper body strength to press it in the ground, you just step on it with your foot.At the current $29.99 price point, we found this tool a bargain. It did everything we needed and more. All the pieces seem very good quality and sturdy, including the spikes. I see no reason why this would not last us for many years to come.
